Base area stats reflect natural snowfall only. Resort snowmaking operations contribute greatly to snow depth across lower elevations of the mountain.
Today's Snow Reporter: Tucker
Thursday, April 3, 2025:
10:30 a.m. update:
April provides! It’s been snowing consistently all morning. The fresh layer of snow has really improved conditions across the mountain. Groomers are feeling soft and forgiving underfoot, though there are a few wind-scoured areas on the frontside that are much more firm. Off-piste terrain is very chalky this morning, and the additional snow is helping to soften things up even more.
6 a.m. report:
Good morning, snow sports fans!
We had 2 inches of new snow fall overnight and 4 in the past 24 hours. Most of that snow fell on the upper mountain, but it settled significantly overnight. We do expect this spring storm to stick around through today, as more snow is projected to fall this morning.
It’s currently 22 degrees on the mountain. The summit will reach 27 today, while the base area will stay just under freezing at 31 degrees. We’ll have moderate winds out of the west-northwest under stormy skies.
Conditions are holding strong as we head into our closing weekend on the Big. Snow will be variable today, with some soft snow at upper elevations and on the backside, a firmer layer around mid-mountain due to a freeze-thaw cycle from last night, and some slightly softer springlike snow at the base area. It should be another great day on the Big, especially with more snow to come this morning.
We have just four days left in the 2024/25 ski season, so come on up and enjoy it while it lasts!
As always, we'll celebrate with the annual Pond Skim this Saturday, April 5, before taking our final laps of the season on Sunday. Put on your kookiest costumes and come out to watch dozens of competitors sink or skim!
After the Pond Skim on Saturday, head to the Craggy Range Sports Bar & Grill for an end-of-season party on their heated patio. With live DJs, drink specials, a photo booth, a beer pong tournament and no cover charge, the party will go until 11 p.m. Now that's what we call après-ski!
Looking to upgrade to a new pair of slide sticks? Stop by Village Rentals before the season ends! Demo skis are on sale now for just $300. You can save up to 50% on new skis, boots and bindings as well. Take advantage of these deals before they're all gone!
If you're breaking out your splitboard or touring skis this spring, please take a moment to review our uphill policy and note the time restrictions on our two uphill routes. If you head up the mountain after 4 p.m. you must take the East Route! And remember, uphill rules will change when we enter our 14-day post-season period on Monday, April 7.
As always,
Happy shredding.
The snow report is a subjective assessment of terrain and weather conditions. Snowfall and snow depths are measured at the summit and base areas around 6 a.m. each day. Actual depths may vary across the mountain and change throughout the day. Always check with ski patrol if you need more information about skiing conditions.

If you go out of bounds ...
When you exit the marked boundaries of the resort, you are entering backcountry terrain where natural and human-caused avalanches can occur. The resort does not conduct avalanche mitigation on those slopes. Always check the Flathead Avalanche Center's daily avalanche forecast and carry a beacon, shovel and probe.
Stay safe out there!
